About Renaissance in Millburn, NJ
Renaissance Art School was opened in 1989 by Patricia Navarino. While Patricia was an art teacher in the Millburn Public School System, she found that her students needed more time and one on one assistance to cultivate their craft. She developed a free form curriculum where the younger students would be in control of their creations, while the older students could concentrate on the ever important portfolio development. This educator's goals included the transference of her love of art, combined with an individualized program of curriculum and instruction.
Patricia's little studio in Millburn has grown over the years. Renaissance Art School has developed programs in educational and visual arts enhancement. A graphic arts program was developed and recently a 3D art program has been added to the wide array of disciplines that are offered. We now have five certified art teachers on staff who have been hand picked for their individualized excellence and their expertise in the field of visual arts. All of the teachers work with each student to develop an individual curriculum which suits the students needs and will enhance their experience.
Renaissance Art School has helped students develop a different understanding of life, through art, and has assisted students in receiving Scholarships to world renowned colleges and universities, such as Cornell University, Parsons The New School For Design, Rhode Island School of Design, Moore College of Art, Savannah College of Art, University of Pennsylvania, and Pratt Institute just to name a few.
Renaissance Art School will continue to put the student first. Our chief goal is to broaden the horizons and open up the minds of young people through visual arts and education.
